The Great Decay // CABAL
From the Shadows of Denmark to the World Stage
Emerging in 2016, CABAL's debut "Purge" redefined extreme metal in Denmark. By 2018, their album "Mark of Rot" positioned them on the global stage, followed by major tours in Europe, Japan, and North America. Their 2020 album "Drag Me Down" delved into personal struggles while expanding their unique sound. Their collaborations include big names such as Matt Heafy of Trivium, Jamie Hails of Polaris, CJ McMahon from Thy Art is Murder, and Filip Danielsson of Humanity’s Last Breath.
In 2022, CABAL's "Magno Interitus" commented on the decay in the modern world, both politically and personally. The band also ventured into vibrant aesthetics inspired by Ari Aster’s 'Midsommar'. Andreas Bjulver Paarup, their art director, emphasizes the experimental nature of their latest work. The album features Joe ‘Bad’ Badolato of Fit For An Autopsy and Simon Olsen from BÆST, and an exclusive collaboration with industrial duo ‘John Cxnnor’. Released in October 2022 via Nuclear Blast Records, they are now preparing for their 4th album, further exploring their dark industrial sound.
