The Luxury Spirits Masters 2025
This year’s Luxury Spirits Masters in London brought a moment of pride we won’t forget. Our Raw No. 5 whisky received the top Master Medal, and our Rare No. 4 was awarded Gold in the World Whisky – Ultra-Premium category.
For us at Copenhagen Distillery, this recognition is more than a medal. It’s proof that our way of combining art, craft, and science stands tall on the global stage.
A Testament to Nordic Craft
The Luxury Spirits Masters, organized by The Spirits Business, celebrates the finest in the world of spirits. Everything is judged blind by a panel of industry experts, so the results speak purely for quality, not name or reputation.
When the judges described Raw No. 5, they mentioned described it as “an orchard overflowing with green apples, Conference pears, meadow flowers, and white pepper.”
That description feels exactly right to us. It’s a whisky that balances curiosity and elegance, a reflection of our Danish terroir and our approach to distilling.
Honoured, and Humbled
We can’t overstate how proud we are of this result. Winning the Master Medal for Raw No. 5 is not just a milestone for us, but for the whole Nordic spirits community. It shows that attention to detail, local ingredients, and patient aging can produce whiskies that hold their own among the best in the world.
And having Rare No. 4 take Gold in the same flight is deeply rewarding. It shows consistency; a sign that what we’re building here has depth, not just flashes of brilliance.
Our Work, Our Story
Since founding Copenhagen Distillery in 2015, our goal has been simple: to redefine Scandinavian spirits. From our small distillery in Copenhagen, we create handcrafted gins and whiskies that tell stories of origin and process. Each expression explores the influence of grain, fermentation, and maturation. These are the layers that shape our flavor identity.
This recognition follows several international awards, but this one feels special. It reaffirms our belief that Danish distilling deserves its place on the global map.
And as we continue our journey, we’ve just released Refined No. 3, with gentle notes of smoke, marzipan, and liquorice. It completes the trilogy and stands as another expression of our dedication to the craft.
