The year we broke through the glass ceiling

Over the past year, Copenhagen Distillery has received a series of international recognitions that confirm what many already sense when they taste our spirits. Careful work matters. Precision matters. And character stands out.

Luxury Masters 2025

At the Global Luxury Masters, we were awarded a Master Award for our RAW no. 5. This is the highest distinction in the competition. It is given to whiskies that show exceptional quality, balance, and individuality in blind tastings judged by industry experts.

We also received World Whisky Gold. A gold medal at this level signals a whisky that performs at the top of its category. It means depth, structure, and clarity in aroma and taste. It means the whisky holds up under scrutiny.

Speciality Masters 2025

In addition, we were awarded Speciality Gold for dill anise Aquavit and Speciality Silver for our Coffee spirit. These medals recognise our white botanical spirits that challenge traditional categories, while still delivering quality and drinkability. Innovation only makes sense if it tastes good. These awards confirm that it does.

Icons of Whisky 2026

In late winter we were named Best Craft Producer in the World Whisky category by Icons of Whisky, while our master Distiller Lasse Öznek was shortlisted as one of the 3 best distillers in the category world wide. These titles speak to scale and intent. We are not a volume distillery. We work in small batches. We select casks by hand. We adjust alcohol strength based on blind tastings, not fixed formulas. To be recognised as the best craft producer in the World Whisky category is a strong acknowledgment of that approach.

Falstaff Tasting

Independent critics have reached similar conclusions. In Falstaff’s recent tasting, four of our products were reviewed. All scored above 90 points. RARE No. 4 received 95 out of 100, placing it at the top of the line-up.

These results are not about hype. They reflect a way of working described in our production philosophy in.

We combine organic Danish grain, controlled fermentation with yeast and lactic acid bacteria, single distillation in a Müller hybrid still, and maturation in Quercus frainetto Hungarian oak. Every step is deliberate.

RARE No. 4 is a malted grain whisky made from 100 percent spelt. It shows a dark marigold and amber colour with heavy oils in the glass. On the nose, it brings sweet cereals, dried papaya, minerality, and green jasmine tea. The palate is soft but structured, with rock candy sweetness, oxidised papaya, umami, and a light salinity. The finish carries toasted sourdough, nuts, raw cacao, and dry oak tannins that linger.

Patience over hype

Awards do not define a distillery. But they do show that careful decisions, from grain to glass, are noticed. And for us, that is enough.
